What: A WorkingPeople’s Day of Action
ON FEBRUARY 24, Cincinnati’s Labor Community will board a number of executive-style passengercoaches and we will make our way north to join thousands of other working brothers, sisters and allies from all over Ohio at the Statehouse in Columbus for a WorkingPeople’s Day of Action to protect our right toorganize and support strong unions. Similar rallies are being held in cities acrossthe country to underscore how strong unions benefit all of us and to push back againsta system that’s rigged against working people.
Wealthy special interests and ideological extremists want to rig the systemfurther through a Supreme Court case called Janus v. AFSCME Council 31. This case isanother attempt to limit the power of working people by weakening unions that giveworkers a powerful voice in advocating for themselves, and in OEA’s case, the studentsthat we serve, their families and their communities.
